Remove Unwanted Hair With Just a Few Viora Treatments
Hair Removal With Viora
Thanks to Viora’s PCR™ technology, we are able to offer permanent laser hair removal at our dental practice. Many of us deal with having hair in places we don’t want it, resulting in a lifetime of tweezing, waxing, plucking, or shaving. The treatment we offer is safe and quick and works through a combination of stable contact cooling and using a variety of wavelengths.
How Does Viora Remove Hair?
Permanent hair reduction is defined as the long-term, stable reduction in the number of regrowing hairs at 6, 9, and 12 months after the completion of a treatment course. Laser or IPL technology permanently removes hair by targeting the melanin within the hair shaft. That dark pigment is where the light energy in the laser converts to heat and destroys the hair follicle to produce those long-lasting results.
Life Cycle of Hair Follicles
There are four phases to the growth cycle of individual hairs: the growing phase, the regressing phase, the resting phase, and the shedding phase. Melanin is formed in the hair bulb during the growing phase. During the regressing phase, the hair detaches from the follicle base, while a new hair begins to form beneath it. In the shedding phase, the previous hair falls out before the new hair can grow (which is why all shed a number of hairs each day, even if we aren’t balding).
Laser hair removal is effective on hairs in the growing phase, but only a fraction of hair follicles are in that phase at any given time, which is why multiple treatments are necessary for long-term results. Up to 80% of hair can be in the resting phase at any given time and laser hair reduction will not impact the follicle to prevent regrowth. This is why we space out treatments, so that we can get the greatest number of follicles while they are in their growing phase.
Safe and Quick Hair Removal
Hair reduction treatments are some of the most popular aesthetic treatments in the world for men and women alike. Our Viora hair reduction service offers a significant reduction in hair growth that is safe and quick to do. Hair reduction treatments have never been so comfortable, effective, and affordable all at once.
Tips to Maximize Your Results
Before and after your hair removal session, there are a few things you can do to ensure the best possible results:
Give the area a smooth, clean shave before the treatment session to make it more comfortable and effective.
Stay out of direct sunlight for two weeks prior to each treatment and two weeks after. This will help prevent changes to the pigment of the skin.
Avoid other methods of hair removal such as waxing and plucking between treatments. Shaving is still fine, but pulling hairs out by the roots could impact the effectiveness of the treatment.
